from day one to the present its all in there. Its a bit un clear in parts though as the writer has done research to write it rather than sat down with Jay Z and wrote it from the horses mouth so to speak

I admire the man he has become...and the influence he has on our culture.
Just shows what focus and determination can accomplish.
Good for the casual fan 10 May 2014

Interesting, although slightly less informative than I'd hoped. The book is a purely subjective analysis of his records and his life, and at times the reviews and explanations of songs and albums are a little tired and predictable. It is extremely in depth, with every album covered extensively. If you're looking for a re telling of the intimate details of jays life this isn't it. It's more of a bloated career retrospective.
Great read! 4 Dec. 2012

This biography is extremely insightful and very informative on one of the greatest artists in the world. A must-read for any Jay-Z or hip-hop fan!
Best but not Better 10 Jan. 2015

Great book, but he did not explain how he proposed to Beyonce! It's pretty deep of the journey to his big career and to the fame. Good book!
