Jay (or Jagjeet) is a British journalist and filmmaker.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Jay studied Politics and Social Policy before studying and working in the United States. He returned to complete post-graduate studies in Broadcast Journalism before embarking on a career in television.
Jay has worked as a reporter at ITV News, a specialist researcher for the BBC and currently as a television producer at Sky News.
His writing interests cover Sikh faith and identity and Anglo-Sikh history.
This includes the groundbreaking "Turbanology: Guide to Sikh Identity" which gives for the first time a full narrative of the evolution of the turban and it's relevance for Sikhs today.
Jay's new book "Saragarhi: The Forgotten Battle" explores the 1897 skirmish on the Samana, where 21 Sikh soldiers fought for Britain against the onslaught of 10,000 enemy tribesmen. It's a story retold for the first time utilising primary sources and never-before-published images.
