As this is a book aimed at helping you pass a test, errors are pretty unforgivable. And this book contains far too many errors and typos. I wouldn't think it possible to pass the exam with just this book to study from. For example - at one point the book makes up a whole new section of the web application deployment descriptor.

Overall, the book is poorly written with confusing, badly explained sections and example questions that contradict the main text.

Certainly not worth the money. There are many other books for this exam now - get one of those.

Looks like this book was published in a hurry and it ended up looking like an editor's nightmare after some stomach upsetting dinner. This is the publishing equivalent of a car crash, there are so many mistakes in it that the already excessive errata for this book only covers half of them just to save the editors the embarrasment. With so stiff competition there is no reason in the world why you should prefer this one. Perhaps only the accompanying cd with plenty of exam practice tests but - surprise, surprise - you get a whole lot of very interesting mistakes with them too.

Not too bad at all 13 Nov 2003
Format:Hardcover
I passed the exam studying with this book and j2ee javadoc, it covers all exam topics very vell. I would have given it 5 stars but for its minor typos/errors throughout, mainly in code listings - a pity for a good book to be let down by something a bit of proof reading could fix.
