Jason L. Powell

Professor Jason L. Powell Ph.D is Research Chair in Community Leadership and Active Citizenship. He is also Visiting Professorial Research Fellow, Oxford University. Prof Powell is Visiting Scholar at The Harvard Medical School. Formerly, he was Associate Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Social and Environmental Studies at The University of Liverpool.
He has directed or co-directed numerous funded research projects and he has also served as an advisor/consultant to many national and international studies. At April 2012 the body of his published research output comprises: 31 books; over 270 refereed journals and chapters; 16 published research reports. He is Editor-in-Chief of US-based international journal, Illness, Crisis & Loss; and is Associate Editor of The Canadian Journal of Sociology.
