Product Description

Double bill of Ray Harryhausen films. In 'Jason and the Argonauts', deposed leader Jason sets out to find the Golden Fleece, which will reinstate him as the rightful King. Helped and hindered by the Gods on Mount Olympus, he sets out on his ship Argo and has to fight all sorts of strange monsters en-route. 'Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger' sees brave sailor Sinbad and Princess Farah trying to undo the spell put on her brother by her evil stepmother.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful By Vicky Clinton on 7 Jan 2004
tells the story of Jason, son of Zeus, who is sent to Mount Olympus to meet his Father and the rest of the Gods...he is told to acquire a crew and set sail to a land afar.. in search of the Golden Fleece. Along the way, Jason picks up Hercules and others. Hera, Queen of the Gods advises him throughout his journey.. (Although this is a sixties film, the detail and effects are fantastic.. especially the parting of the sea by the mighty Poseidon himself)!! "some scary moments too!!!. Excellent film!!!.

PLEASE NOTE: This Review is for 'Jason And The Argonauts' only:

This is one of the greatest fantasy movies ever made - and as many others here on Amazon have stated; one I remember well from my childhood that had immense impact.

Always more appreciative of 'stop-motion' pictures than the modern computer-generated sci-fi stuff that is churned out today, as Ray Harryhausen states in the Interview which is included as one of the great bonus features on this DVD; the modern way disposes of any real imagination - particularly when fantasy figures appear 'too' real. Who can forget the fabulous 'Talos' in this movie! I recall one of the most awesome scenes was when 'Neptune' rose from the sea to hold the rocks apart to let the ship pass through - the sheer size was magnificent to behold! And who can forget those 'Harpies' taunting the blind 'Phineas' played by the fabulous Patrick Troughton!? Great stuff!

This truly has to be one of the most enjoyable and entertaining fantasy movies, and from an era when they were definitely at their best - and for all ages!

Stars Honor Blackman and Gary Raymond.

NOTE: Just read some of the other wonderfully glowing Reviews here on Amazon for this fine picture!
