Bring to life the story of Jason and his adventures! 4 Dec. 2014
By Richard and Liz - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Library Binding
Of the three children's books we read specifically on Jason and the Argonauts this one had the most detail. The illustrations are not as lifelike due to being so cartoonish but the book was easy to read and follow. Each double page spread is a new chapter with the main story provided on the left hand side. There are also inset boxes giving additional facts.

We read how Jason was raised by a centaur, sent on a dangerous mission by his uncle, King Pelius, the arrival at Salmydessus and the defeating of the Harpies, sailing safely through the Crushing Rocks, harnessing the fire-breathing bulls and fighting the skeleton soldiers, taking the golden fleece with the help of Medea, surviving the song of the Sirens and the demise of King of Pelias.

At the end of the book there is a glossary and a "Who's Who".

Highly recommend this book as either an individual study on this one Greek myth or as part of a longer study of Ancient Greece like we did.
