Needed this book for my dissertation on the influence of ukiyo-e art and it helped me a huge amount. Has a great lay-out, easy to read, and covers a huge amount of information, including the history of Japanese art, and its influence across Europe and America, with chapters focusing on the different types of art affected (painting, graphics, film etc).

I love Japonisme, and living near Giverny, I have developed a passionate interest in the influence of Japanes woodblock prints on the Impressionists (Monet had an impressive collection, and one can see it in his house). The book is beautifully illustrated and quite informative.
