A text that stands alone,
By A Customer
This review is from: Japanese Maples (Hardcover)
A quite beautifully presented photographic guide to Japanese Maples that reminds the enthusiast just why they they do it. Taxonomy is informative, without being overbearing, however the quality of this book is in its illustration and accompanying text. A must buy for maple lovers and maple curious alike.

A pleasure to read and own,
By A Customer
This review is from: Japanese Maples (Hardcover)
I have many other books on maples but this has to be one, if not the best, available at the moment. Packed with beautiful colour photos and genuinely useful information this easy reading book is a must for anybody with the slightest interest in maples. The descriptions of the individual trees have a depth of information not found in any of the other books I have read. The only reason I gave it four stars and not five was that the book was published in 1987 and so does not cover the some of the newer varieties available today - never the less, I would consider this an essential book in your collection. Many thanks to Amazon who managed to source me a copy - well worth the wait.

Everything you need to know about the cultivars.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Japanese Maples (Hardcover)
I am in the green indusrty and this book has always been the bible. I just have never owned one. But A. palmatums and their many cultivars are becoming more and more available even at the retail level. This book will identify any a. palmatum you will find at a local wholesale or retail nursery. Great photos and descriptions.
