This book is stuffed full of simple, authentic and delicious recipes. I love how you can make almost all the dishes with just mirin, sake and soy sauce. Almost all ingredients are easily available at your local Waitrose or Sainsbury's, or pop into an Asian/Chinese supermarket or online store. A surprisingly slim volume for 70 recipes, thanks to the simple but very clear instructions along with great photos. A refreshing change from the huge hardback tomes that one usually get from Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson, Gordon Ramsay or Rick Stein. I tried a number of the recipes and the results were thoroughly delicious and fantastic for someone missing Japanese food. Happy cooking days ahead!
