Janice is a senior lecturer in law at Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom. She teaches and researches in the field of intellectual property (IP) law, company and business law. Janice is passionate about sharing her interest in legal education. She is a member of the European Intellectual Property Teachers' Network (EIPTN) and the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP). She has presented at international conferences including: University of Lisbon, Portugal; Bocconi and Trento Universities, Italy; Charles University, Czech Republic; University of Alcala, Spain; and University of Tokyo, Japan. Janice has also given papers at the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO), the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and the Academy of Legal Business Studies (ALSB) in Boston, USA. She is a member of the Nottingham Creative IP Project funded by the UK IPO. Janice became an academic after a career as a solicitor in Perth, Western Australia where she worked as in-house counsel for a publicly listed Australian company and senior associate in a commercial law firm. Janice is presently enjoying carrying out research in the emerging discipline of intellectual property finance. She is director of her legal education consulting firm Intellectual Pursuit Ltd. Janice is originally from Canada and studied at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec.
