Jane Morris just was not a pretty face, portrayed through the eyes of Rossetti, and the Victorian ideal "pin up" she and her daughter May were just everyday people like us. Jan Marsh undresses the myth and re-clothes them in their rightful mind and being.

A sensitive biography of a complex woman and her dutiful, talented, daughter. The biography carries a great deal of material that has not been gathered together in any other place. Absolutely absorbing for all who are interested in the Pre-Raphaelite era and its later development.
