Product Description

Product Description

This vintage large cake tin has a silicone seal on the lid to keep it airtight, and the base doubles as a serving platter.

The Jamie Oliver Vintage Storage Collection from DK Brands, is the perfect embodiment of old world style and modern practicality.

Each vessel has been deep drawn from a single piece of carbon steel, which means that they are both extremely robust and also very easy to clean, as the manufacturing process alleviates the dirt traps and sharp corners typically found on pressed steel storage products.

A nod to modernity comes in the form of the airtight silicone seals used on all vessels other than the bread bin, thus ensuring that ingredients stay fresh longer. The collection is finished in a classic sky blue and cream paint scheme with stainless steel detailing and comprises a variety of sizes of storage jars, a bread bin, cake tin set, biscuit tin and utensil pot.

Jamie Oliver is a phenomenon in the world of food. As one of the worlds best-loved chefs he continues to enjoy huge success on television and in publishing, with 12 television shows airing in over 100 countries and in excess of 23 million books sold to date.

DKB Household has worked closely with Jamie since 2005 when the hugely successful Flavour Shaker was launched. Since then in excess of two million Flavour Shakers have been sold in more than fifteen countries around the world.

In 2009 the partnership was strengthened further by the launch of Jamie Oliver's Kitchen Kit, a range of easy to use and stylish kitchen products designed by Jamie and the DKB in-house design team.Following its success to date the Kitchen Kit range has been extended futher to include more products which Jamie would be happy to use in his own kitchen.

Jamie says "I'm really pleased with all the kitchen kit products the guys at DKB and I have developed over the years. I hope you'll like the new tools and gadgets we're introducing this year as much as I do."

Big but not massive - it won't take your Christmas cake with the decorations on - it's not as tall as the picture might lead you to believe. But the seal is brilliant and the item itself is very nice and matches the other containers that I've purchased in this range - blends in well with my eclectic kitchen.

A good fitting lid and built to last but apart from that just a reasonable cake tin.
Not especially good value for money.

I was in the process of buying it when previous customers kindly provided measurements. Thanks guys :-)....my cake tins are on average 26cm diameter (which I consider normal) ....so describing it as BIG when it can only hold a 20-23cm cake must be the overstatement of the century. What kind of cakes does Mr Oliver bake? I bake family sized cakes and shall now resort to the good and fashioned Villeroy and Boch cake plate with cover since they do think that a large is over 26cm in diameter :-)

Jamie Oliver cake tins are really good quality, they are stylish and airtight. The smaller tin sits in the large tin when not in use. I think they are slightly more expensive but you are paying for the quality and you will have them for a very long time, so worth that little bit more. The large tin is a good design and the top lifts off so you can display and serve your cake on the base. I read another review that the larger tin was not as big as the customer expected and I would agree with that. If you make very large cakes, this may not be big enough for you.

It is so much easier to cut and serve slices of cake with no sides to the tin. I have searched often to find them and other than the plastic ones this is the only one I have found. It is attractive and has a nice seal on the edge. I am tempted to buy another. Definitely recommend it. Perhaps they should create a square one now.

The only negative, and its a minor - is that the rubber ring which seals the top and base is loose and lifts up with the lid. Otherwise, very happy.

This tin is not doing me any favours. Am making far too many cakes and eating them. The cakes stay fresh due to the excellent seal.
