1.0 out of 5 stars Great Book - Terrible Format on Kindle 21 May 2012
By lhickin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've always been a fan of the James Halliday book when it comes to wine selection and given the price of this Kindle edition compared the paperback, the decision seemed logical to purchase this.....

......however, the format of this Kindle version is, in a word - terrible. There is no indexing, a number of odd page bugs (flicked forward and back a page presents a corrupt image) and absolutely no formatting or optimisation for the digtal format.

It is almost impossible to simply flick to a selected winery, variety or any other reason one woud chose to own a reference book like this.

I will now go and purchase the paperback version elsewhere (sorry Amazon) and chalk this one up to experience.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great aussie wine book 7 Sep 2012

I found the book to be informative about wine regions in Australia, and the ratings appear to be accurate. I recommend that anyone coming to Australia should read this book if they like wine.
All in all a wine lovers reference.
4.0 out of 5 stars Read this book before visiting the wineries 15 July 2012
By Wallaby - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I am reviewing the print, paperback version of this book. Very useful reference for anyone thinking of making the long drive to visit the wineries. Be sure to take this with you. The tasting notes are quite good, and the maps are very useful in the print version not Kindle! (the Kindle version is hard to use, the maps are useless) Halliday's wine atlas also covers much of this same information, and the pricing was not alway accurate in this edition. Still, a very comprehensive source for Australian wine lovers even if you are just looking for a new wine to try.
