I greatly enjoyed this CD. Most of the other James Galway music I had listened to was classical or Irish. This was a very refreshing change mixing some traditional music with some contempory. As always the man is a miracle with a flute. It is not my favourite Galway album that remains "Winters Crossing"

I bought this CD primarily for the beautifully haunting 'The Wind Beneath My Wings', feeling reasonably certain it would receive a splendid treatment by James Galway. I was not disappointed. In fact every track is performed to the highest musical standard expected by Mr Galway and his hand-picked orchestra. The arrangements by William D. Brohn (including tracks arranged by Julian Lee and Ken Bichel) seem to lift familiar tunes into fresh musical heights. James Galway is a master musician who extracts beautiful tone colour and emotion from his flute. Get into a quiet room, turn out the lights, and be lifted high by marvellous musical sounds.

Angelic Beauty 5 May 2002
By Allyn - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is one of those incredibly beautiful CDs that you never really get tired of. James Galway's magically soaring flute takes you places, relaxing you and filling whatever corner you are in with beautiful music. Predictably, my favorite song is "The Wind Beneath My Wings"-it soars triumphantly and wonderfully under James Galway's whimsical playing. "From a Distance" is also done uniquely, starting quietly and finishing with a beautiful (yes, you do use this word alot when describing this CD) climax of the chorus. Also not to missed are the haunting "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", the enchanting "Come To My Garden" and "Miss Saigon" with its Oriental flair and exotic sound. If you've been looking for a CD with music that uplifts you and reminds you that there is beauty in the world, this is it.

Lovely, relaxing Irish music. 11 Aug 1999

If you close your eyes you can float away to your most inner quiet space. This is James Galway at his best. His haunting renditions of popular and other songs make this CD a must have for Galway fans or fans of great instrumental music.

I listen to James often . A masterful talent this is one of several hits cds. He is excellent and throws in a touch of Eire. Easy mellow and pleasant: you will never get tired of this.
