Anthony Vidler's volume on James Stirling's Archive is a first-rate review/summation of the consummate 20th century architect's work. James Stirling was a briliant yet sometimes unappreciated talent- Vidler's work will further fortify those of us who have always been attentive to his contributions. In the 1970's many of those of us who had graduated from Architectural school looked to JS's theory and work as inspirational and instructive- on a level with masters of the art such as Alvar Aalto and Aldo van Eyck. Stirling's work should continue to inspire today's graduates who need the example of earlier masters to help them find their own best way- Vidler's volume should be of great help to each of them as they begin their careers.
Thanks for your circulation of this important work.
