James Clarke is the writer of MOVIE MOVEMENTS: FILMS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD OF CINEMA.
He is also the writer of THE VIRGIN FILM GUIDE: WAR FILMS amongst other titles. James is currently at work on several book projects due for publication between 2012 and 2013.
As a scriptwriter and producer James is currently involved in the production of a number of short educational films for the global audience.
James has contributed content to THE WALLFLOWER PRESS CRITICAL GUIDE TO NORTH AMERICAN DIRECTORS , THE ROUGH GUIDE TO FILM and UNDER FIRE: A CENTURY OF WAR MOVIES. He has also contributed material to the book THE TEACHER'S ANIMATION TOOLKIT which is published in autumn 2011.
James has written the screenstory for the British short film CHASING COTARDS (2010). As a producer, James co-produced the BAFTA longlisted short film SPACE DANCE (2001) and worked for a decade in community media as a writer and producer.
As a commentator on film, James has appeared on Channel 4 and Channel Five and on the BBC World Service.
James has written for a range of outlets including EMPIRE magazine, IMAGINE animation magazine and RESURGENCE magazine. He has taught at the University of Sussex, the University of Gloucestershire, City College Brighton and Hereford College of Arts.
