George Washington McLintock (John Wayne) has to try and convince his wife Katherine (Maureen O Hara) that he has been faithful after a two year separation, with their fights the talk of the town. Matters are not helped by the extremely attractive cook Mrs Louise Warren (Yvonne De Carlo) he has hired at the ranch house... The film achieved a certain notoriety for the spanking scene, widely regarded as a cinematic first.

I bought this because it was so cheap. Well, you gets what you pays for essentially! I love James Cagney and of course his movies but after watching two of these movies 'Great Guy' and 'Time of your Life' I thought they were a bit dated and the transfer quality from whatever to DVD isn't really that good to be honest. However for the price they are decent value and if you like James Cagney they might be a rare treat for you.
