4.0 out of 5 stars Classic comic strips showcased well 24 Jun 2008
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The 15th book in Titan's continuing line of James Bond graphic novels, The Paradise Plot reprints comic strips from the early 1980s. Originally published in the Daily Star, "The Paradise Plot" and "Deathmask" are reprinted here in their entirety. Unlike some of Titan's comic strip collections, the reproduction in this book is excellent. Presumably Titan had better source material this time, as even the fine lines have printed really well.

The artwork is by John McLusky, back on the strip after 16 years. The stories are originals by Jim Lawrence, who may not be an Ian Fleming but he handles it well.

Another two or three books and Titan will have collected every James Bond newspaper strip since 1958. If you're a Bond fan and/or a fan of newspaper adventure strips all of these books are worth your time.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fine book. 18 Oct 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This volume contains only 2 stories but they are quite long.
The introduction this time is by David Hedison who played Felix Leiter in several of the James Bond films.
Up next is "Taking the World By Storm" an article on James Bond comic strips from around the World.
The strips themselves are taken from the archives of The Daily Star and are The Paradise Plot and Deathmask.
This book is, chronologically at least, the second from last in the series.
Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars James Bond Comics have arrived 14 Oct 2010

Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Well it took a while but we currently have James Bond novels, movies , cartoons and now we have James Bond comic books.
The storyine is easy to follow and the art work is top notch!
Book is produced on high quality paper with drawings that are quite modern in look and approach.
I have already read the book twice and quite enjoyable to read and easy to follow the scripts. Suggest you try this one and there are many other books that are Ian Fleming novels made into comics as well as new titles from new authors .
Yes his name is still Bond James Bond!
