Taken as a graphic novel representation of a James Bond film, I think the "Death Wing" collection of stories is great fun. Not up to the standards of the most discerning James Bond expert perhaps, but very entertaining for all that. I can particularly imagine Roger Moore playing 007 in the "Sea Dragon" episode, which is very 1970's Bond.

Take it as an entertaining comic book within the 007 brand and you'll have great fun with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Superb comic strip book 18 Oct 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Another great book from Titan.
Representing 3 stories from the Daily Express newspaper James Bond strips. These strips are from 1977 and therefore reflect those times.
Firstly we get an introduction from Madeline Smith (Bond Girl from "Live and Let Die") which is then followed by a nice article about James Bond in American comics.
Then we are straight into the comic strips themselves.
"When The Wizard Awakes" is quite a short story, "Sea Dragon" which was originally not published in a UK newspaper at all, followed by "Death Wing" which also makes it's UK debut in this volume.
A great continuation of the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Graphic SF Reader 15 Jun 2008

A solid collection of Bond stories of their time.

Never saw this strip, although luckily we did get Modesty Blaise, pretty cool to comes across collections of stuff like this.

The start gives an overview aimed at the yank market, of how few James Bond comics have been done there, in general.

It also gives the publishing history in comic form in the UK etc. of Fleming's actual stories, and as well as those continue don later.

Plenty of Bond girls and odd villains to be found in these several strips.
