Extracts from just four 5 Star UK Amazon Customer Reviews of 'James Blond – Stockport Is Too Much’ -

Tim Stevens - With James Blond Terry Ravenscroft has penned another comedy winner. A clever and well written parody, the humour is plentiful and down-to-earth without being overtly crude. Ravenscroft's prose, in this book as well as his others, is easy on the eye and sweeps the reader along at a pleasant and satisfying pace.

sjp - After reading Captain's day, I felt compelled to buy Terry's latest release, only to be thrust into several more hours of belly-aching-laughs. His ability to write is astounding, and ANYONE who reads this will not be left thinking to themselves, "Well that was ok." Moreover, they'll be saying something like, "bring on the next one!"

Russell Bradley - This was my first venture into the Kindle store so I was unsure of where to start for my first title. I thought a light hearted comedy would fit the bill so I read the reviews on ‘James Blond-Stockport s too Much’ and decided this sounded a good read. I was not disappointed ,the book was a delight. Well done Terry Ravenscroft, I will add you to my favour rite authors list!

After foiling the plans of countless power-hungry villains bent on world domination the bringing to book of the evil Dr Goldnojaws, who only wants to dominate Stockport, should present no problem for top secret agent James Blond. However in addition to taking on Goldnojaws and his evil sidekick BloJob, Blond has to wrestle with a prostate problem, so things aren’t quite as straightforward as he would have liked. Then to make matters worse he starts having girlfriend trouble....with Pisa Vass, amongst others.

A few more 5 Star Amazon Reviews -

Bacteriaboy - As a huge fan of Terry Ravenscroft, I was nearly beside myself with excitement the day this book arrived. From start to finish it had me belly laughing so hard that on a couple of occasions, a little bit of wee came out! Hats off to Terry for this highly entertaining and recommendable read!

Mr. Anthony J. Mccrorie - Humour, like art, music and decorating your lounge, is personal and so it must be hard to write to make people smile, even laugh. However, Terry Ravenscroft succeeds and ever since being given his seriously funny book of letters to airline companies I have kept an eye for his new publications, and up to now have never been disappointed. It's a funny, entertaining read, ideal for bed or beach. I look forward to the next one.

chochouse - I have read several of Terry Ravenscroft’s books over the last few weeks and this one is up there with the best. A great story unfolds with some very funny James Bond references woven in to it. As always I had to read this book alone due to the constant need to laugh out loud and upset anyone within earshot with my constant uncontrolled chuckling.

Clever and Funny! 20 Mar 2011
Format:Paperback
With James Blond (Stockport is Not Enough) Terry Ravenscroft has penned another comedy winner. A clever and well written parody on Fleming's James Bond series, the parallels are nicely drawn whilst the story works equally well as a stand-alone piece. The humour is plentiful and down-to-earth without being overtly crude. Ravenscroft's prose, in this book as well as his others, is easy on the eye and sweeps the reader along at a pleasant and satisfying pace. There's never a dull moment but the action is never frenetic. This is a rewarding piece of light reading.

My name is Blonde. 18 Mar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I really like spoof books and I have soft spot for James Bond films (especially the old Sean Connery and Roger Moore ones which were a bit more tongue in cheek), so I was really looking forward to reading this book, and it didn't disappoint.

It is a ludicrous and funny caper, with some great one-liners (I did find myself laughing out loud), and I really liked the way it related to the 007's movies and novels, it's a good send-up. The book was an easy read with a steady pace that kept me enthralled to the end.

I agree with some of the reviewers that Terry Ravenscroft's references to Stockport were thin and that the book could have been set anywhere. I suppose occasionally you do come across a spoof book where the location is essential to the plot, like in Tony Royden's excellent comedy thriller The Dealer, but on this occasion I didn't think the location was that important and I certainly didn't let it spoil my enjoyment of the book.

It's a fun read and a wonderful parody of a national treasure.

Reviews ib the description... AAAAARRRGGGGHHHHH
Like the books, but having the description buried between waves of reviews... NOPE. I want to know what the book is about - not what Tom Dick and Harriet think of it. Read more

I found this book very funny in parts and reminded my of a verbal Mr Bean. The antics are quite silly but there are some lovely passages which create some startling imagery. Read more

Too awful....
Attracted by the promise of the book being set in Stockport, I now find myself relieved I went for the 99p Kindle option and not the £7.99 book itself. Read more

Stairlift to Heavan????
Ordered 'Stairlift' but was sent this in error. It's a light, shortish, comical read that (unsurprisingly) lampoons 007. Read more
