Jambo Means Hello 23 Aug 2002
By Mark R
Format:Paperback
A really good book to introduce a child to Swahili prior to a holiday to East Africa. The art work is great and it contains some good pieces about african culture. Although limited to an alphabet book I found it stimulated interest enough to encourage further learning.

Format:Paperback
This children's book, also illustrated by Tom Feelings, is an alphabet book that teaches Swahili words and African culture. With each word, a child learns more about this vibrant African culture. It was a 1975 Caldecott Honor book (i.e., a runner-up to the Medal winner) for best illustration in a children's book.

Atmospheric drawings 22 Nov 2011
By Lotli
Format:Paperback
Good for adults too with the atmospheric drawings. A nostalgic read for someone who has childhood memories of Tanzania. Sensitively done.
