Shock, horror, a brilliant live band that maintains it's originality, energy, emotion and still remains tuneful on record. Bluesy/Country call it what you will. it defies lazy pigeon holeing. Opener, Slay The Heart of the Earth is a classic mix of Doors/Beach Boys/Mariachi. Loosely speaking the album does deteriorate in quality as it goes on but from such a high watermark this is almost inevitable. A hefty price tag for CD's these days, yes, but if you are looking for something above the latest Kings of Leon staple, then jump aboard, but do yourself a favour and try to get to see them the next time they are in town.
