First track proper (after the atmospheric intro), Födosagan is a good of example of what is to come, with full on black metal during the verses, and a tempo change for the chorus when the humppa is introduced. This works surprisingly well, and the band have obviously realised this, because the same structure is used throughout the album. Apart from the keyboard-only instrumentals, every song follows the same formula. But that is not to say there is a lack of originality, indeed, every song on here sounds different. For me, the standout tracks are the aforementioned Födosagan, the title track, and Kitteldags. Jaktens Tid (the song) features some excellent rambling vocals that complement the normal ones perfectly, whilst Kitteldags sums up everything that is unique about this wonderful band in two short minutes.
To put it simply, this album rules. The lyrics are all in Swedish, so although I have no idea what they mean, a look at their website indicates that they are interested in "striking down the followers of the Christian plague". Even so, this is not reflected in the music, Jaktens Tid is one of the most fun albums I have ever heard. If you're looking for something new and original, check this out, I guarantee you will not be disappointed
Reccommended Tracks: Fodosagan, Slaget vid blodsaiv, Kilteldags, Varg timmen...damn it just buy the album they're all great!
