Product Description

The Heynai bestowed upon the people of Estia one great weapon to fight the forces of evil, a set of five stones which possess unlimited powers. They housed them in a protective box and entrusted it to a Keeper, a guardian chosen from Earth. For centuries, the Stones and the Keepers defended their world against wizards, tyrants and armies. Until the day that two ordinary fifteen year old boys from England broke them.
In ‘Jake West – The Keeper of the Stones’ the boys fought battles, freed an entire army from slavery, and waged war against an evil wizard and his legions of murderous beasts. Now, the beleaguered Rebel Army is marching to the city of Dassilliak, pursued by the tyrant, King Vantrax, his savage beast warlord, Sawdon, and his entire Northern Army. Ahead of them lies a sizeable enemy force which is waiting to spring a deadly trap. They are running out of time and they are in desperate need of a miracle. The only weapon they have lies in ruins. Jake West is the only one who can restore it.
But Jake and the seriously wounded Ben have gone home!

5.0 out of 5 stars very nicely done 16 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Fantasy isn't something I'm normally into, that much. When I'm in a completely different universe, I don't feel "grounded" I guess is the word. What makes this different is the shifting between the modern & the parallel/fantastical world through a portal. I feel like a know the kids because they are real & authentically modern, navigating a different world entirely. The worlds, characters, and creatures are intricately drawn. I thought the focus on dialogue and action was great. I wasn't bugged by having to learn a new language or the whole history and geneaology of every new being, as is often the case in fantasy. Webb offers all the stuff that make for a fast read & strips away much of what usually slows me down in fantasy realms. The story itself is really good. It was also well done as being the 2nd act of a 3-act play, basically, where there's enough background in the opening pages that you feel like you can read it as a story in itself w/o necessarily going to book 1. There were just a few spots where I thought the internal thoughts went on a bit long & I wanted less thinking more action, but those are small bumps on a really nice story. If you like fantasy with modern YA voices, this is a rare combination you should check out. Esp for a couple bucks--it's a steal of a deal.

4.0 out of 5 stars The story continues ......... 3 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Starts off slower than the first book building into a very entertaining action packed crescendo.
Despite facing powerful and interestingly apparently invincible adversaries, Jake and his allies manage to carry on the fight and with the odds stacked against them, prepare to stand or die.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great series 21 Aug 2013
Format:Paperback
This book lead into a much bigger picture of all those hero's that make this story it is a turning of a story of how one person is capable of reaching the hearts of those around them and helping them make the choices they have for the greater good. I love the interaction of all the characters that are needed to make one hero special. For we never truly do things on our own. Life brings us to people and places that help us be who we are. I see that build up in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars great follow on 16 Aug 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
After the first book (Keeper of the Stones) i expected it to follow on in the same way however I was wrong this book improves the tempo of the story and explores the details of the friendships of the main characters, it has a bit of everything for all readers of any age. the author states its written for teenagers but I am far from that but still enjoyed it (maybe I haven't grown up yet).
