Just played this excellently packaged CD - packaged as the original black vinyl records with the orinigal covers from both UK and America- The CD is excellent quality with the brilliant 'Jailhouse Rock' followed by 'Treat me Nice' - as an added bonus we also get the movie version of 'Treat me Nice' (and I must say my preferred version) - if this is the quality of the collection then I can't wait to hear the rest.

RCA began 2005 with a big bang for British Presley fans - weekly releases of 3-track 10" Vinyl and 5" CD singles covering all eighteen of The King's UK Numbers ones. I can remember buying them one a week at £3.99 each (supposedly limited editions). The presentation and audio was top notch and by 25 April 2005 (Number 18) - the complete box set could be proudly displayed on my shelf at home. Here are the details for each UK CD single reissue and the 'complete' box set...

Format: Audio CD
The composers of 'Jailhouse Rock', Leiber and Stoller, apparently penned its homoerotic lyrics as revenge on Elvis for, in their view, ruining the duo's earlier classic 'Hound Dog.'
Whether Elvis was aware of the song's undertones or not, he delivered one of the most electrifying vocal performances in rock music history. No-one else before or since could have handled this song with such aplomb. Add to that some of the most distinctive guitar chords ever laid down, and the dramatic drumming, and it all adds up to one of the best things Elvis ever recorded.
