This book is massive (surprisingly so), and filled with diagrams and pictures. Not as photo by photo based as a Haynes manual, perhaps, but if you have an XJS this is as good as you're going to get.
Have not had to use it to carry out any repairs yet, but well worth having to give you confidence and knowledge when the time comes to get your elbows dirty.

All you need to work on your Jaguar at home. Would have been 5 stars but the outside cover is on back to front and upside down !

Service manuals are a dry read unless perhaps you have a car engine in pieces on the garage floor and need to get it running ASAP. Well written and illustrated with the information you need.

The one you want 8 July 2014
By Thomas - Published on Amazon.com
This is the one you want - forget the others. If you do your own work on a six cylinder XJS it is far and away the best manual you will find. (For the v12 search google for 'Kirby' and 'XJS' to supplement the standard manual.) This book although expensive will, over time, save you a great deal of money. Specifications, settings, procedures, pictures of all the specialized tools, etc... it's inside. It is not the most exhaustive shop manual I have ever owned (That would be the one International Harvester wrote for the Scout II I once owned) and the procedures often assume access to shop tools that are impossible to find but it is the best thing out there.

After five years mine is showing a fair amount of wear and a number of grease stains but the spine is still intact.
A bit expensive, but worth it! 17 Feb 2014

We were working on an XJS-C and the searching the internet, there was not a lot of info on this car. But this book has it all! Yes it is a little expensive for a "repair manual" but it is SO worth the money. If you have an XJS or similar, I recommend buying this book.
