Nomen est omen - NOT 28 Oct 2003
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
If the name is Jaguar: All the cars, I would have liked to read about all the cars, Not just the mass production (if one can use that phrase with Jaguars) cars. Where are famous C- and D-types? Where is XJ220?

The pictures are small and fuzzy, but if You are interested about trivial details of each car (what colours were available etc.), this is a book for You.

I agree with others that this book is a `must' for any Jaguar enthusiast. Like all of Nigel Thorley's books it is well researched, well written and lavish with illustrations and data tables about the cars. Excellent stuff. I do however have a couple of quibbles in that the book does not have reference to C Type and D Type cars nor other more modern racing models. I suppose (because I did not see any mention of a deliberate omission in the Preface) that this is because these cars were/are not road models - but they are `Jaguars' and should they not feature in a book called `Jaguar: All the Cars'? Another trifling irritation is that the categories and measurements used in the tables are not consistent so direct comparisons on some features and with imperial/metric dimensions need a bit of thought and some mental arithmetic. I would also like to have seen a full list of options for each model and perhaps the original price list of such options - but perhaps that is too 'anorak'. You will enjoy this book, as I continue to do.

very good 3 Feb 2009
Format:Hardcover
This book contains all you would ever need to know about most jaguar cars produced it does not contain competition cars, XK or the new XF. It goes into a lot of detail telling you about the changes that happened and when to models. Interior colours, number of models sold it also tells you the length width mpg bhp of all the cars. The cars covered in this book are as follows:
Xk 120 - 150, Mark VII to IX, Mark I and 2 240/250, E-Type series 1-3, Mark X/420G, old s-type/420, Xj series 1-3, Ds420, XJS, XJ40, X300, XK8, new S-Type, X-Type and X350.
To me this is an reference book which I look at again and again.
