Jagermeister is a German liqueur, created from 56 botanicals that are sourced world wide. All of the naturally sourced botanicals end up in the same place, Wolfenbuttel, the home of Jagermeister. To create Jagermeister, the essential oils from the botanicals are extracted through cold maceration and mixed in with alcohol and water. The alcohol and botanicals mix is then left to ferment for a year in oak barrels. While in this state, the spirit is cared for by the ‘meisters’ who analyse the spirit making sure each batch of Jagermeister taste, smells and feels the same.
