Product Description

Product Description

Jade Goody has defied all the odds to become one of Britain's best-paid and most popular celebrities. Born into a troubled south London family she was savagely attacked by the tabloids and called 'the most hated woman in Britain' when she first appeared in the Big Brother house in 2002. Critics said she would be forgotten within days of leaving the show - but Jade has proved them all wrong. Less than two years after finding fame Jade was named as Britain's first reality television millionaire. Today she is working - and earning - as much as ever. Her battles with her weight, her boyfriends and her family have made her the queen of the tabloids and Jade is still the best-selling cover star celebrity magazines like Heat have ever had - far ahead of rivals such as Victoria Beckham and Madonna. In this, the first major autobiography of the star, top showbiz reporter Neil Simpson reveals the tragic childhood that could have left Jade scarred for life. He uncovers the truth behind her turbulent break-up with long-term boyfriend and father of her two children Jeff Brazier and explains the secret of how Jade single-handedly runs one of the most successful careers in show business. Jade's World is essential reading for all of Jade's fans, for everyone who loves reality television and for anyone who wants to become a star in celebrity-obsessed Britain.

4.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to Jade's World!, 6 Jun 2005
By A Customer
What a great read! My only previous recollection of Jade was her appearance on Big Brother and the media slating she recieved for what appeared to be simple alcohol-driven naivity. However, having seen her face staring out from a hundred and one magazine covers, I have to confess to knowing little or nothing about what fuelled the general public's fascination for every detail of this Bermondsey girl's public and private life. In this book, Neil Simpson explains not only her troubled background, but how she has won over her critics through a combination of sheer determination, hard work and an underlying honest and caring personality. By the end of the book I felt as though I know her like a best friend. There's even a series of tips for Jade wannabes to follow to emulate her success (and who knows, maybe her millions too!). A real feelgood book both for her fans and those who don't know the real Miss Goody and are mystified by her appeal.

1.0 out of 5 stars Goody Goody, 6 Nov 2006
By Mr. D. J. Read (Alnwick, Northumberland United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This is another joke. Jade Goody is empty headed and repugnant, as others have observed. I guess this is some divine power making up for the fact she was born without any endearing attributes (i.e personality, looks, nice body, intelligence etc). This can only encouarge those in a similar boat to desperately claw at fame as she has done.
So Jade churns out her first of two novels, justified upon the premise of 'starring' on a reality show. She seems to have been 'taken to the nations heart'. I am at a loss to understand why, as nothing can possibly earn derision more than a Z-lister trying desperately to stay in the public eye and therefore inflate her bank balance.
I do not expect her to understand the damage she is doing to the book industry, as I do not expect her to have knowledge of the existence of books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lets get on Big Brother, 25 Aug 2005
By Chris Miller (London United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I am going to enter Big Brother next year and get rich! Apart from all the stuff about Jade's amazing childhood - all true about the one armed lesbian mother and stuff - there is masses about how the Big Brother auditions go and how you get selected for the show. Plus loads on how Jade then took advantage of it all and made her million. love it, want to do it, see me on telly next year so thank you Jade!

1.0 out of 5 stars A not very clever woman who looks like a pig
