5.0 out of 5 stars Stunningly inventive page turner., 11 April 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Jack and Jill (Paperback)
Jack and Jill looked like another example of the ordinary American Murder thriller - but James Patterson's ability to lead you by the nose to a seemingly obvious result and then flip it back on you in the most surprising and shocking manner left me speechless at several stages. With his convoluted double-thread plot and wonderfully rounded characters, the author has pushed Jack and Jill, with the characters' fabulous realism and devious behaviour straight into the all time top two of anything I have ever read. Pick this up and you won't want to stop reading from twist to twist. A fabulous read, written with a flair that makes you appreciate the effort the author has made, and simultaneously makes you glad you paid to own it and read it at your leisure. Excellent stuff, stunningly executed (if you'll pardon the pun).

5.0 out of 5 stars It reassures you one second and terrorises you the next., 6 Nov 2000
This review is from: Jack and Jill (Paperback)
James Patterson has done it again. I have read this book many times and it never fails to intrigue me with the twists and turns that have become the trademark of a James Patterson novel. Again, Alex Cross has to fight for what he believes in and for what he is pressurised to do. His passion for his children and the children of Southeast and the evil that he pits his wits against in this book show that Alex is not a man to be messed with. The story of Jack and Jill takes the reader on a horrifying journey into the lives of the rich and famous and screams to the world that not even the protected are same from the demons of the world.

This book is a must for those who have read Along Came the Spider and Kiss the Girls.

Alex Cross will never fail to thrill!!

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME twists and pace!!!, 23 Sep 2005
This review is from: Jack and Jill (Paperback)
If you are thinking about buying this book and either aren't aware, or simply haven't read the first two books of the Alex Cross saga I urge you to buy Along Came A Spider and Kiss The Girls at once, read them and then read Jack & Jill. It is better to read them in order to keep with the full story and see how Patterson develops the characters. J&J is a cracking read!!! Very fast paced and full of plot twists that will have you frantically turning the pages. Obviously, it is also great to see how Patterson's characters are evolving as they are written brilliantly. J&J is a little different to the first two novels of the series but equally as good. Well, what are you waiting for........

2.0 out of 5 stars Unacceptably crass novel, written with a bad cop show in mind.
This novel is so poorly written and unashamedly crass it is quite shocking. Patterson uses descriptive simile's in the vein of "he looked like Kevin Costner in the film "The... Read more
