5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME twists and pace!!! 23 Sep 2005
Format:Paperback
If you are thinking about buying this book and either aren't aware, or simply haven't read the first two books of the Alex Cross saga I urge you to buy Along Came A Spider and Kiss The Girls at once, read them and then read Jack & Jill. It is better to read them in order to keep with the full story and see how Patterson develops the characters. J&J is a cracking read!!! Very fast paced and full of plot twists that will have you frantically turning the pages. Obviously, it is also great to see how Patterson's characters are evolving as they are written brilliantly. J&J is a little different to the first two novels of the series but equally as good. Well, what are you waiting for........

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunningly inventive page turner. 11 April 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Jack and Jill looked like another example of the ordinary American Murder thriller - but James Patterson's ability to lead you by the nose to a seemingly obvious result and then flip it back on you in the most surprising and shocking manner left me speechless at several stages. With his convoluted double-thread plot and wonderfully rounded characters, the author has pushed Jack and Jill, with the characters' fabulous realism and devious behaviour straight into the all time top two of anything I have ever read. Pick this up and you won't want to stop reading from twist to twist. A fabulous read, written with a flair that makes you appreciate the effort the author has made, and simultaneously makes you glad you paid to own it and read it at your leisure. Excellent stuff, stunningly executed (if you'll pardon the pun).

James Patterson has done it again. I have read this book many times and it never fails to intrigue me with the twists and turns that have become the trademark of a James Patterson novel. Again, Alex Cross has to fight for what he believes in and for what he is pressurised to do. His passion for his children and the children of Southeast and the evil that he pits his wits against in this book show that Alex is not a man to be messed with. The story of Jack and Jill takes the reader on a horrifying journey into the lives of the rich and famous and screams to the world that not even the protected are same from the demons of the world.
This book is a must for those who have read Along Came the Spider and Kiss the Girls.
Alex Cross will never fail to thrill!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Brave 13 Nov 2009
By SonicQuack VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
Patterson throws caution to the wind in the third Alex Cross novel. This time Alex finds himself investigating another pair of killers, although this time they have very different agendas. One is killing on Alex's home turf, the other a political killer. Alex must divide his time, weighing his heart against reason in a tight and fast moving thriller. Patterson delivers the goods, creating a twisting tale in which he makes some courageous calls in which direction to take the story. Shocking and fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars this book must be good... 9 Feb 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
because of the speed I was reading it. I've never read a book so fast. I thought Kiss the Girls was unbeatable but this is better. There are no dull bits and no sex like in previous books which ruined them. It's pace is very quick. If you like crime novels, and reading about more gruesome killings and how killers think doesn't get to you, then you can't afford not to read this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jack and Jill - James Patterson 3 Aug 2009
By molko VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
As i'm sure you're aware this is the third in James Patterson's multi million dollar earning Alex Cross series. This time there are an abundance of suspects to choose from as 3 seperate killers terrorise Washington DC. The most prominent is the murderous duo of Jack and Jill, preying upon Washington's elite and the rich and famous, these killers lead Alex Cross to the white house to help protect the President. However Alex would much rather be hunting down the Sujourner Truth School killer. A seemingly unexperienced and sloppy killer preying on the young black children in Cross' own neighborhood.

Patterson masterfully weaeves the stories of these seperate killers and makes the whole journey an exciting and thrilling adventure. Even though there's alot of characters thrown into the mix theyre all well portrayed and easily to keep track of. And luckily Alex Cross and his partner John Sampson have turned into much more likeable characters considering in the first two books in the series (Along Came a Spider & Kiss the Girls) Cross in particular was so full of male bravado he became slightly tedious to read about, thankfully thats been toned down here and all in all it makes for the best Alex Cross book in the series yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Irresistable! 25 April 2001
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
A tag team of celebrity stalkers are the focus of the complex plot in another of Patterson's great novels. Alex Cross is assigned to protect the very important public figures with the code name "Jack and Jill". But another "Jack and Jill" are also on the loose, biding their time as to when they strike...
Another all-night read, very deep, page turning stuff. Absolutely brilliant, it's Patterson at his best.
