4.0 out of 5 stars Better Than I Expected.... 17 Jun 2008
Colour Name:Black
My experience of standard bluetooth mobile phone headsets has never been the greatest, so I was unsure of what to expect with the Jabra BT3030. However I have been pleasantly surprised.

To get the technical details out of the way, I'm pairing with a Palm Treo 680, with Softick Audio Gateway providing the A2DP. Normsoft's PocketTunes was the music player. I listened using Sennheiser CX300s and eH1430s.

The unit seems well made and you can hang the dogtag round your neck. There is a lapel clip which is ok. Being able to use your own headphones is one of the best features of the BT3030 but you really need a right-angle jack on the phones to keep it looking neat.

Initial pairing occurred without any problems and since then I've been able to play music from the phone.

Sound quality is good, though there is some some background noise which is noticeable using the CX300s as they sit in the ear canal, although when listening outside with the volume up, you can't hear the it. With the eH1430s, it's not apparent at all.

The controls on the tag have acceptable feedback so you do know when you are pressing the keys. The tag does have blue coloured backlight which lights up when you press a key too. The Jabra logo flashes every 5secs or so when it's in use.

Signal range is brilliant - you have to get a good 8 metres from phone before signal degradation kicks in before dropping out at about 10 metres.

Using the BT3030 as a voice call headset has been a revelation - all phones should be like this. Call quality was excellent and callers seemed to be able to hear me fine through the microphone on the BT3030.

4.0 out of 5 stars jabra 3030 review 23 Mar 2009
Colour Name:Black
have had this for about a month now, no complaints it does exactly what it says on the tin. Works well and the battery life is good. The only drawback is that i bought it so that i could listen to the radio as well as my mp3, however you need the earphones to be plugged into the phone so i can't use it for this (DOH!!! my own fault for not researching properly). Sound quality is very good and much better than the wired phones i have used previously - would definitely reccomend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Now Full Functional with iphone 4.1 OS upgrade 4 Oct 2010
By Paul B
Colour Name:Black|Verified Purchase
Works well with my iphone 3GS. The sound quality is good and all the keys now work with the latest iOS 4.1 upgrade. The iOS 4.1 release expands support for the Bluetooth audio-video remote control profile (AVRCP). Although the volume and play/pause functions have been enabled for some time, iOS 4.1 finally supports controls for selecting next track and last track.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great compromise :-) 5 Dec 2010
By MGT
Colour Name:Black
I picked one of the BT3030 units for commuting to and from work on the tube. For what I needed it's perfect :-)

I didn't want integrated bluetooth headphones as I wanted track control I could see rather than having to reach for my ear each time I wanted to go back a track! I normally wear the BT3030 on a lanyard around my neck and use a pair of noise isolating sony earphones.

On the tube it's great as I don't have to pull out my phone to adjust the volume / track and whilst the volume isn't as loud as if I were connected directly to my iphone 4 headphone jack it's plenty loud enough to drown out the general tube / commuter noise.

Pairing is simple and works every time for me without issue. It has never dropped a connection whilst playing music either. The battery lasts several trips to and from the office and I tend to charge it up every 2 - 3 days or so. Sound quality is pretty good considering it's blue-tooth - it's not studio quality but it's very easy to listen to and more than good enough for a noisy environment and I've never found any aspect to it that causes me not to enjoy whatever I'm listening too.

So, if you're looking for full track / volume controls that you can see, and you want to use your own headphones, definitely consider the BT3030....especially given the price :-))

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite a dog-tag, this one 24 Nov 2010
By AJ
Colour Name:Black
Looks cool, pretty good sound quality and has a good battery life. It is even very durable. Only thing I dislike about it is that, while its streaming your music, it cuts-off the sound for a few seconds, this happens quite randomly. This gets really annoying if one of your favourite songs is playing.

4.0 out of 5 stars A phone-users review 8 Sep 2009
Colour Name:Black
So, as a Blackberry user, who spends an unhealthy amount of time on the phone all day, I've been looking for a bluetooth solution that gives me earpieces for BOTH ears. Specifically important to me as I work in a noisy office where I frequently use my mobile, and also spend a lot of time in the car where I find having a single bluetooth headset (hanging off one ear) does not provide the audio quality I need.

I really wanted something that gave me the quality of the wired "stereo" headset I had been using that is the standard handsfree kit with a Blackberry.

And I have to say I'm really pleased with this, and give you all the pro's and con's below;

I LIKE:
- sound quality is very good through the standard headphones that come with the device - although you can connect your own
- I have asked several people how I sound - and all say that it is extremely good quality
- you can use it with the "clip" (easily removable) - or with the metal dog-tag chain (NOT easily removble) - which I didn't like so ripped it off. I wish I hadn't as the clip is great on short pockets / lapels / where you button up your shirt - but not strong enough to cling to a scrunched up piece of T-shirt
- You can charge it with the standard Blackberry mains or car-chargers
- It has a very good battery life (had it for one week - just come off two back-to-back 2.5 hour calls, and its working fine!
