1.0 out of 5 stars Bad!! 16 April 2013

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
24hrs after receiving the JXD s7300, still trying to get on google play, the wi-fi seems very poor (all my other devices work well on my wireless connection).

I had problems with connecting to PC windows7, I have sorted that and can connect to sd card to put roms on the JXD.

The build quality is of poor quality, especially the two analogue sticks movement, they seem cheap and indifferent.

some of the buttons rattle within the case, bad build quality!

If your looking for PS vita build quality, look elsewhere. some folk are disassembling the console to insert foam under the analogue sticks to make them feel better! why should you have to do this with a new item.

I feel like i've wasted 130, would have been better spending another 60 and getting another PS vita.

Rather disappointing, although i reckon the build quality fluctuates from unit to unit, so bad is the build quality.

This device is dire, after numerous problems, the device has finally quit booting, locks at JXD logo screen, wont boot up at all and refuses to even reset to default settings when the reset button is used.

I just wanted to warn folk, this device is riddled with problems and shouldn't even be on sale in my opinion, its not fit for purpose and I'll never touch another JXD product, EVER!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised!! 1 April 2013

I am a collector of consoles, gadgets and general computer tech bits and bobs. I am always on the look out for something new. I have owned my new iPod, Xperia, PSVita and 3DS for a little while now so was looking for a new handheld device to keep me amused. When I saw the price and potential power of this thing I though it would be too good to be true. Having spent a few days with the JXD and can honestly say it is an extremely impressive piece of kit for the money. Build quality is nice and once used to the mapping functions games function excellently on physical controls. Emulators are excellent on the machine. A real reason for physical controls over touch screen. It plays latest high-tech android games such as real racing 3 and dead trigger effortlessly. There is a lot of snobbery in this area of technology. Get past it and see these machines as the bargains they are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb little tablet 4 May 2013

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Problem with most tablets is they're rubbish for playing games on. I'm old school, I like a proper control pad feel to my games and this system gives that. I updated mine with an update called SXelrom 3, changed a couple of the developer settings and now can run PS1, N64, SNES, NES, Megadrive and many other games on it. It's just superb. Naturally it also plays Android games such as Asphalt HD and being quite high powered and running Jelly Bean 4.1 it's really slick.

You can also use all the usual Android stuff, watch videos, play MP3s etc etc.

Highly recommended for my price, I love mine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs firmware to make it playable 17 Aug 2013
I got mine last month and I have not played on it much due to three problems. The out of the box problem is heat.
The device comes out of the box clocked at 1.5 ghz. Which we would want it to be set at for all those graphical intensive games out there. Well yes and no. The heat from the processor is not cooled properly. Most tablet processors are passive cooled but are equipped with some decent heat sink. Unfortunately the 7300 isn't that well provided for. So you need the latest firmware to under clock the tablet oath wise you will get very toasty hands.
Borderline painful. So when it is under clocked to 1ghz it settles down and just gets warm.

Second problem. The device just stops during gameplay. It is not lag but something else. Might be linked to the poor cooling but it will get beyond a joke if I have to under clock it to 700mhz. That will suck.

Third problem. The mapping of controls are fiddle. Some work, but you have to line up the controls via a graphical representation (template) and it does get crowded. Better get you little sister to do it for you. Fat fingers do not work.

Is it worth the money? No. Better get the psp look alike 5300. 7 inch display is nice but with the problems above you will have a better product. I mean I have to crack open the 7300 case and add a better copper panel for a heat sink and add a laptop fan to assist in the cooling, if it want full speed, no lags and cool fingers.
