I'd been looking for a flatscreen tv for the bedroom for a while. 26 inches is probably the biggest size set you can fit in a standard double bedroom, and this one fitted the bill. I'd looked at the Sony, Panasonic and Samsung 26 inch models, all very good with differing prices, £350 for the Samsung to £450 for the latest Sony and Panasonic models. But this one with similar spec has the additional benefit of a PVR built-in. To say its the best tv i've bought would be an understatement. No additional boxes or wires needed for dvd recorder etc, and its a simple 1 touch button operation from the start. I dont like reading user manuals, and i have never used one for this and we've been using since December. If JVC did a 37 or 42 inch with a PVR built in, I'd buy that one for my main living room too! Brilliant!!

Amazon Verified Purchase
Bought this for my mum to replace an old Sony CRT whose colour was going. Me and my brother tried to persuade her to buy a 52" but it wouldn't go in the place of the old TV. Had to go to the JVC website to make sure i got the correct external dimensions as it was critical but these were very accurate and it fitted like a glove. The JVC has smaller external dimensions for a 26" than other makes. Great thing about this is that it also replaced a VCR and a Freeview box and 3 remotes. It was probably good practice for her to be juggling 3 remotes to record Countdown at 79 but i thought it was a bit cruel. The TV was easy to set up, picture is very good and the bonus was that the remote had nice big buttons. It comes from Hughes Direct but ordered through Amazon it was a lot cheaper than going to Hughes Direct direct. Cheers Amazon.

Having bought a number of Freeview + recorders which were all returned due to picture freeze I was happy to find that the recorder in this TV is excellent.
So is the picture quality.
The only down side is the sound quality which is thin. The bass control does not make the sound richer, just muffled.
To get an acceptable quality of audio I have had to plug a set of PC speakers into the head phone socket (the only audio out port).
