Keep in tune and line with the KD-R311E by JVC! With a total sound output of 4 x 50W, the KD-R311E car radio by JVC provides fantastic results. The KD-R311E is compatible with MP3 file formats and ID3 tags, and also works with CD-R and CD-RW discs. You'll be able to listen to all your favourite tracks, no matter where you've got them stored! Meanwhile, the RDS tuner offers up loads of options, and the 3-band iEQ equaliser adjusts settings to bring out the best in your music. There's even an auxiliary input on the front panel of the KD-R311E for hooking up a portable multimedia player.

I bought and fitted this today to my 1998 BMW Z3 to replace an ageing Sony unit and I'm extremely pleased with the sound quality, the build quality and the ease of use.
Simple to fit after purchasing an ISO wiring harness for just less than £4-00 to connect up, the existing aerial plug fitted correctly.
Normal CD's and mp3 are playable and the sound quality is great.
Radio stations are simple to save manually or auto save and along with CD tracks are easy to select by pressing the menu button, rotating the large easy to turn silver knob to select the required track or station then a press to confirm, or simply by using the forward and back button to skip one track/station per push.
So much easier to use than tiny and illegible buttons as fitted to many similar units!
The removable front panel (with option to make none removable) is very stylish and uncluttered and looks good in my car, it's red illumination is a very good match for BMW red glow dials.
The front Aux socket works perfectly with my Sansa Clip mp3 player, if you aren't going to use it (or AM radio) you can set the unit not to show Aux and/or AM radio in the source menu to save scrolling past them when swapping between CD and FM radio .
I found the illumination on default to be a bit bright for my taste but just perfect when dimmed using one of the many useful menu items.
If properly installed and set up correctly using the supplied and simple to understand user manual it's a joy to use.

I think you would have to pay an awful lot more to improve on this head unit.

I got this as I wanted something I could plug my phone into and use spotify in my car, this was the cheapest option with an aux input anywhere I could find. It's a great stereo, took seconds to take out my old one and put this one straight in. Has some useful features like an auto radio preset button which adds all the stations with the strongest signals to your presets then theres no messing about.
Easy to fit, easy to use, good sound too. Recomended.

Thought I'd better write a review on this as I read through the ones already written before I bought this stereo and with the exception of 1 review, everyone seemed happy with it. I have to say I LOVE IT! My other half had it fitted within 10 minutes, the sound quality is fabulous and being able to plug my ipod in is a big bonus. Easy to work, volume dial is not so small that you can't turn it (which it's been referred to as being) - it's absolutely fine. Buttons are self explanatory and with 5 minutes you can figure out what they all do anyway. I'd definitely recommend this stereo - for the price and what you get it's an absolute bargain! You won't be disappointed :)
