This product is great however, please be aware of the following if you intend to purchase.

***1. The design of the earphones is totally different to that in the photo (I will be contacting the seller over this)*** (Ignore this now, image has been updated after my issues)

2. If you intend to use these on a mobile phone (i.e. iPhone) - You'll have to ensure phone is in Air plane/Flight mode as the powered unit is not shielded and you will get mobile phone interference - This is a big issue if you like to receive text, calls & work on 3G networks etc.

3. If you can live with the above then these are spiffy ear-phones and whilst my Sony in-ear headphones work better to cancel external noises, these do have superior sound quality (just a shame about the mobile phone interference which has spoilt it)

4. If you have an iPod Touch or Classic, then these will be fantastic, and are of a reasonable cost to buy for great sound quality.

This is the third set of noise cancelling earphones I have tried after giving up on headphones, due to the pain they cause in extended usage. The previous earphones I tried were not the in ear type, which may be one of the reasons that their noise cancellation affect was very limited.

These JVC earphones are the first ones I have tried that give a significant noise reduction of aeroplane engines along with good quality music reproduction. There is a slight his when switched to noise cancellation mode but nothing compared to the benefit in a high noise environment.

They are very comfortable even after a ten hour flight.

The only problem I have had is losing the separate cable that runs between the control unit and the player.

I would defintely buy another pair if I loose this one.

Bought these ready for a trip from the UK to Sydney. The audio performance was bright and clear, with a very full bass response, but still pleasant to listen to. When one switched to noise reduction in a quiet environment,a distinct hiss was apparent. I reserved judgement over that until in flight.
In the air, the noise reduction was dramatic - at today's price I'd recommend anyone with normal hearing to invest in a set before a long flight. The control unit is well finished in high gloss piano black, and the AA battery lasted over 30 hours and was still showing power, but the noise reduction increased when I swapped it for a fresh one. It's important to ensure the earpieces are tightly fitted (they are supplied with three sizes of silicone sleeve).
Good listening with a pleasing level of ambient noise reduction. Well done, JVC!
