One Touch
One-Touch: Export to iTunes, Upload to YouTube & Burn to DVD (when connected to a PC)
One-Touch Export to iTunes and One-Touch Upload to YouTube
Wouldn't you like to carry special moments with you all the time, on your iPod? With Everio, that's simple. The videos and photos you've taken can easily be added to your iTunes library, then sync your iPod/iPhone and carry! You can easily upload your videos to YouTube and share them with the world. Everio makes uploading a breeze, so start sharing your memories with family or friends living far away.

Auto Power ON/OFF & Auto Lens Cover
With Everio, you don't have to use the power switch each time you operate because the power is linked to the LCD's opening and closing. Just open the LCD; the power turns on and the lens cover automatically opens, then close the LCD to power off and close the lens cover too.

Quick Restart
In combination with Auto Power ON, you're ready to shoot within 1 second of the LCD re-opening. Never miss a crucial moment.

New Laser Touch Operation
An evolved version of our previous Laser Touch Operation, this system now allows zooming and recording using either the Laser Touch or standard zoom lever and REC button. Of course, browsing through indexes and menu selections is as easy as ever.

Laser Touch
Laser Touch Operation in use
Digest Playback
This function automatically selects highlight scenes from among the recorded content, using our proprietary algorithm, and plays back what looks like a "coming attractions" trailer for a movie. 60 minutes of footage is condensed into a 5-minute highlight scene.

20x Optical Zoom & Face Detection
Developed for Everio by the camera specialists at KONICA MINOLTA, this new HD lens features advanced optics to deliver a high zoom ratio that is top-of-the-class for HD camcorders. Additionally, Everio intelligently identifies up to 16 faces then accurately adjusts the focus and exposure for sharp, beautiful images.

Convenient 2-Way Strap
Use it as either a grip belt or a wrist strap, whichever suits the occasion. When not in use, it fits snugly to the body to minimise storage space.

One-Touch DVD Creation
With Everio, archiving your videos onto disc is also a one-touch operation. Use the PC or optional SHARE STATION DVD Burner, and you can burn DVDs from the Everio's recordings. With an HD Everio, you can archive your Full HD video files on DVD discs (AVCHD DVD) and Blu-ray discs.

Auto Shut Technology
Auto Power ON/OFF & Auto Lens Cover when you open the LCD display
Full HD 1920x1080 Recording & up to 25 hours of HD Recording
All of the image information you are capable of seeing on an HDTV display will be recorded at the camcorder. Without losing any visual information to start with, this native 1920x1080 resolution is maintained from recording to playback. Internal high-capacity HDD allows long recording times. With the GZ-HD300, you can store up to 25 hours of HD video (EP mode).

24Mbps Ultra-High-Quality AVCHD Recording
In addition to the conventional XP/SP/EP modes, we have added a new UXP mode with an unprecedented bit rate of 24Mbps (average) to deliver more detailed, sharper images with less noise.

World's Smallest and Slimmest Design
It took JVC to make an HD camcorder so small and light. 30% smaller compared to the previous year's, these models are the world's smallest and thinnest HD camcorders with built-in HDD*, making them easier to carry and enjoy than ever before. * As of January 2009

HDMI (V.1.3 with x.v.Colour)
The xvYCC colour standard, known as x.v.Colour, provides more accurate colour reproduction with increased detail and shades. Among the colours that the human eye can perceive, x.v.Colour can display 100% compared to about 55% with sRGB. (x.v.Colour and its logo are trademarks)

HD Gigabrid Premium Engine
In addition to advanced image processing to optimise picture quality, this chip also helps reduce power consumption by 30% compared to previous Everio models, and enables approximately 2.5x faster creation of DVD/AVCHD DVD discs.

1920x1080/50P Output
Using the same technology as DynaPix HD displays, this function outputs a 1080 scanning line image at progressive 50fps, so you can enjoy uncompromising picture quality on a TV that accepts 1080P input.

This is my first HD camcorder and it is interesting to see how the reality lives up to the hype!

First of all, low light shooting is poor. Seemingly this is an issue with all HD camcorders and has something to do with smaller pixel sizes on the CCD. But, take this baby outdoors and the picture is very nice - hooked up to an HDTV and there's a big difference between this and an SD cam.

Secondly editing is a pain! The software that comes with the camera is woeful. aside from pulling the clips off the camera (which you can do without the software - windows sees the cam as a new drive, and the camera thingummy in Windows will happily pull clips out). Adobe Premiere elements 8 is the best editing software I've used - be warned, however, it crashes frequently for no reason, and needs a beast of a PC to run properly - i have to keep hitting "render" after adding transitions etc. Sony Vegas performs brilliantly on more modest hardware, but is just not as fun and intuitive to use (for me anyway - I'm sure the Vegas editors out there disagree).

Finally, shooting with this camera is great fun and very simple - you flip it open and it's ready to go. The hard disk is easily capacious enough even for the top bitrate of 24Mbps, recording 5.5 hours at this quality. The menus take a little getting used to thanks to the little touch strip along the side which i don't really care for. But, I'm guessing this camera is intended to be run in Auto mode most of the time - and why not, it is quick and accurate to focus and shoots great videos that way.

    In summary

+ Great video in adequate light
+ Auto mode works a treat

    - low-light filming is grainy and poor quality
    - in box editing software is poor

Camera is light weight, very easy to take it around.
From the down side few points though:
    1) Lots of noises when taking video in darkened area.
    2) Not so easy to adjust the holder strip, which is useful feature when different people use camera. Me and my wife have different sizes of the palm, so need to adjust quite often.
    3) Software which comes with camera is very (too much) basic. You can't edit video properly. DVD creation function is very basic. Also had problems with recording DVD+R DL on Windows7.
    4) Video is captured in MTS format, and all the software to work with this format is rather expensive.

I just bought this camera, and tested it ...
the video/picture quality is very good/excellent, in normal/good light conditions
but in medium light conditions its crappy, so if you know you will film at night or in low light conditions this is definitely not for you
the hard-disk is huge, you will need also an extra battery (i recommend the BN-VF823) to be able to film more then 2 hours with it
the image stabilizer is not very good, i got very shaky hands, and the image moves a lot :(
i will use it especially in my summer holidays, so it will do the job :D

Video quality in HD is excellent can't fault it but camera/snap shot quality is poor, not very impressed. One main appealing feature of this product was the one touch ..... hum NOT. Very complicated, not straight forward at all, one touch does absolutely nothing. Can't import to a library easily or export and no manuals in box or online! Has left me quite disappointed. Will keep plodding on trying to figure it out though. Overall good quality video and very light and compact so top marks for that, its the rest that lets it down. But hey what do I know I'm a women!!!!!

I havn't fully tried the Camcorder yet, it arrived in a box inside another box, Outer box a bit battered (slightly worried at first) but inner box appeared to be new and original, and Camera seems to be brand new as advertised. Using it is quite simple it is nice and small and compact. The test will come when I try downloading and copying to a CD/DVD, and then see the quality. Sorry I can't be more specific at this moment, but it was a good price that I got it for.
