I bought this camcorder while on holiday in Singapore, just for the 2007 Sepang Maylasian Grand Prix (Came home and two months later most camcorders were becoming cheaper, Amazon sell this cheaper than what I payed! DOH!) I have never owned a camcorder before but it has good quality and does the job. It does have a lot of camera shake but I'm working on this, sure there is a function somewhere. Works well with Windows movie maker so need to buy expensive software if already got it. It has good playback on the tv too but I felt that when downloaded on the computer the image was a bit naff but again I still need to play about with it.

Good thing to have if you are starting to make movies. Good value, what else do you want?

I got this camcorder today although not from amazon i went and got it from currys digital where it was £149.58 which is cheaper than amazon was at the time and i have to say just how superb it really is! I havent had a camcorder in the past so i cant really compare it to another one but it really is fantastic and i can assure you that you will not get as good value for money with any other camcorder than you get with this it really is superb. Hope this has helped!!

PC Connection Issues 28 Sep 2011
I was bought this camera for my birthday a few years ago. It worked perfectly, allowing me to transfer my video to VHS on my Video Recorder or onto DVD uysing my laptop. My laptop runs on windows XP and I found no connection problems, unlike quite a few other people. My laptop is now outdated, I therefore bought a firewire card and updated the software I had been using on my laptop (Pinncle Studio HD). On trying to connect the camera to my PC, I found that it was not recognised or my PC asked me to provide a driver.

This occured on both my PCs one running Vista and the other Windows 7. On looking into this on the internet I found it was a common problem that no had found a solution for. I rang JVC who assured me that I did not need a driver. However no matter what I did my PCs would not recognise the camera, even though they recognised a Sony and a Samsung camera immediatly.

I e-mailed JVC who were most unhelpful, not being able to provide any more help than to suggest I change my Firewire settings. Which I did to no advantage.

I am now stuck with a camera I can no longer produce DVDs with or transfer my movies to tape as Video is now obsolete !
