JUST ONE VOICE

I was so pleased to hear a few months a go that Anne had plans to release this album, her first solo project since her days as a long serving and a pivotal member of The Nolans. Genuinely, never expecting this wide release, I thought it might be a project only available on her website, but fantastic to see this wide medium release.

Like a lot of Nolans fans I have been able to enjoy the download for a couple of weeks prior to this main CD release and what a treat it is to hear some fantastic recordings from this recognisable Nolans voice - albeit sadly - Just the One !

JUST ONE VOICE seems (to me) like an autobiographical project, opening with Songbird almost representing Anne as the solo vocalist and if you just linked the titles together they follow Anne's life since the 2000's where she bravely battled Cancer and personal tragedies... I'd love you to want me, Just when I needed you most (to certain people in her life) Closest thing to Crazy, he's out of my life (crazy times and low moments with a `he') Smile (because that's sometimes all you can do) .. and so on! So you could read into this more as you sit back, relax and listen to the well executed tracks.

High moments for me include, Now and Forever which is just such a beautiful song and lyrics so perfect... `'We are the lucky ones ...Some people never get to do all we got to do..... `' and the second track I'd love you to want me, has a strong country feel to it as has the perfect arrangement of Danny Boy. Maybe, Anne's next project should be a country album!

Anne does have a wide range of vocal talent. Her voice excels on what seems an odd choice of Nessum Dorma, but it fits so perfectly into the musical choices and towards close of the project.

Having listened to some of Anne's fantastic recent tv and radio interviews, she appears to be really looking forward and moving on from the series of unfortunate life events and to a great future... so more than anything else it's what this album represents, the final chapter in the `present' (there's a great future for Anne ahead) story of a most sincere lady and a true survivor of the wonderful Nolans.

On skimming through Amazon new issues, by chance found the new CD release by Anne Nolan.
Having listened to a couple of excerpts, decided to give it a try and order it.
Not disappointed in content.
Anne says how nervous she was entering a recording studio again after such a long time absence fromm the entertainment world, and living and working in normal mode.
No worries Anne, you still got it!.
The choice of songs has been thought out and suit Anne's voice to a tee.
Pleased to see she has decided to do a mini tour later with some live gigs also.
Being a Nolans fan for a long time, I am aware with the history, she has not had the easiest of times in recent years.
Welcome back Anne Nolan, we have missed you.

Forget that "I'm In The Mood Again" Album from 2009 by 'the most popular four' Nolans - this is the one to go for!

Yes, all of the songs are just covers, but it's a well done Album and has been well thought out. It's not some quickie that was just thrown together and auto-tuned to bits, there is real heart and soul in "Just One Voice".

Containing sixteen songs spread over fifteen tracks (fourteen per track each and one medley of two on one track), Anne has put a lot of thought and care into this Album. The songs all suit her voice perfectly and for her first Solo Album, she has done a fantastic and commendable job.

The other four who left Anne and Denise out of the 2009 tour need to take an honest look at what a good Album can be like when it's done right, and maybe not just throw some trashy tour/rerecording Album together in a hurry just to make some quick cash.

What we have here is how an Album should be: songs that have meaning to the artist, music that actually means something and most importantly - no auto-tuning!

If you want a real Album with thought and care, then buy "Just One Voice", you will not be disappointed! Roll on more Albums, Anne!
