1. Tune your car radio into any unused FM channel. (Avoid the transmission channel of the broadcasting stations) 2. Adjust the FM Transmitter to the same radio frequency. A nice little toy but these are usually hit and miss. This is a profound miss. The price should give it away really.

- Transmitter is very poor sound quality compared with other brands.

Was looking for an iPod transmitter for our car journey to France when I came across this; wasn't sure what to expect for less than £6 but was greatly impressed!
Simple to use, just find an unused frequency on the car radio, tune the transmitter to the same frequency and that's it!
No humming or other interference as others have commented - certainly none that was noticeable over the usual road noise, sound quality is comparable to a good FM radio station reception.
Occasional interference was caused by other radio stations coming in on the same frequency - inevitable if you are travelling any distance - which required the transmitter to be re-tuned - but other than that, this is a great little gadget that simply does what it's supposed to.
My single regret is that I didn't spot the version with the remote control which cost about £1 more than this version...

Have had a couple of other makes and types that worked fine but paid £40/£50 for them. This is a bargain and does everything you need it to do. Coupled with the fact that you also get a charger makes it a no brainer. works fine with car stereo and with my boat stereo, the remote means i can wrap the ipod up in a waterproof bag and control it with the remote. I thought i had problems with the remote to start with and seller immediately sent a replacement, however appears that you need to point it right a the bottom of the transmitter for it to work (user error). Does feel a bit cheap but then it is so, we'll see how long it lasts. But if you're after a self powered transmitter for next to nothing then you cant go wrong with this one.

Expensive car charger for ipod
Its really hard to tune up to the frequency.. have to keep very close to the radio to get signal (less than 10 cms).. Even then, the sound quality is very poor.. Read more

Get whay you pay for
This little gadget is a great idea but it's blown my lighter socket/car radio fuse twice now. It's a bit flimsy, too.
