Good 6 Jun 2011

Format:Paperback
this is a great book for getting your head around how to integrate jquery with your website. It's written in typically accessible style (as all the dummy's books are). The only slight problem is that the book is quite dated, as several of the key plugin walk throughs are either no longer available or have moved on so significantly that you need to work out how they work on your own. This can actually be quite useful as it forces you to understand the methodology (albeit whilst frustrating you)

Poor 10 Jan 2012
Format:Paperback
On almost every page this book wastes half the page with repitition of a screenshot and the text "creat a web page containing the following code:" It them gives you a small snippet of jQuery code to add and then moves on to the next example.

Despite the chapter titles almost every chapter of the book is taken up with details of jQuery plugins. Detail is perhaps the wrong word to use since there is precious little detail, there is no explanation of how to use each plugin just info about what the plugin can do.

Three chapters are taken up showing how to integrate jQuery into Drupal, Joomla and Wordpress. Quite how each warranted a whole chapter is quite amazing.

There is also chapters on Ajax plugins and 10 not to be missed jQuery plugins.

In short there is nothing of substance in this book.

I've checked some JQuery books and after a while I've realized what JQuery is for.
With this book, in every chapter, you can inmediately see the power of JQuery; how
can it help you and the posibilities of this tool.
Is a excellent way to start learning JQuery and AJAX.
