I use and collect fountain pens and required something other than special cleaning liquids to clean their nibs. Having read a few reviews on various ultrasonic machines I chose the Ultra 7000 and must say I was not dissapointed at all. I took a pen nib that had been soaked in water for over 12 hours and was showing no signs of ink remaining inside the nib section. Within a few seconds of ultrasonic cleaning the surrounding water was dark with ink. Those little oxygen bubbles exploding on the surface certainly do the trick. I also took 2 of the wifes diamond rings and gave them a 4 minute treatment which made them sparkle like new. Don't expect ultrasonic cleaning machines to remove tarnish because that is NOT what they do. This unit comes with a tarnish Removal Cloth for that job. Also to save turning the machine upside down to remove the water, get yourself a large syringe from a cooking shop and suck it out. Also another little tip, when I clean my pen nibs, I put them into a small glass jar and fill it with warm soapy water. Then I place this into the tank which itself is filled with warm tap water. The tank water then remains clean and the dirty/inky mess removed from the pen is retained inside the small jar. This principle can be used for all other small objects. My final point is that I ordered the machine through Amazon from DST (UK) Ltd and found this company excellent in their communication, delivery and costs. I give them 10 stars for their service.

I have an Ultra-6000 and an Ultra-7000 Cleaner and the sea clean solution.
I clean my Watches,glasses and have also tried old coins along with the cleaning solution in the Ultra-7000 and the results are fantastic.
My wife uses the Ultra-6000 model for her rings,necklaces and earrings and sometimes her glasses, all with really good results.
I have already ordered a couple more for some family members who i think will like them for christmas.

We`ve been debating about buying a "home" ultrasonic for a long time and were going to buy one at the Spring Fair in Birmingham last weekend.But,the few that were on sale were quite expensive,so we decided to try this one due to the good press it had received and not needing an "industrial" one.
It was delivered very quickly,and equally quickly i was testing it out.It`s compact and sturdy,it seems a little small in the reservoir but i would say it`s quite suitable for home use.First results were ok,just ok,not too impressed,put it on a short cycle,it didn`t seem to be doing anything except emitting a low buzz.So i put some more items in to clean,it was then i noticed how dirty the water was,it had shifted quite a LOT of gunk.I refilled it with clean water & cleaner,then ran it on a longer cycle,this time it was much better.Today i tried it with slightly hotter water,just over "hand hot" temp & long cycle,perfect results !I cleaned an old "work" watch i had which was really filthy,came out looking like new.A good rub over with the tarnish cloth (supplied) then a proper polishing cloth and it was pristine again.So,overall 5* opinion overall,comes with good accessories too.Now looking all over for stuff to clean!

DOES THE JOB QUITE WELL
IT DOES NOT REMOVE SMEARS OR GREASE AND SO i BOUGHT THE LIQUID TO USE WITH IT. I USE IT EVERY WEEKEND FOR GLASSES JEWELLERY AND EVEN PARTS OF HUBBIES SHAVER.
