We bought this "Genius Nicer Dicer Plus" for £16.99, (foolishly?) thinking it was a GENUINE "JML Genius Nicer Dicer Plus".
The Genius word was a little confusing to me on some reviews. I thought, if it said Genius on the box or on the advert, then it was the GENUINE JML - this is NOT the case.
So, we have (not very cleverly) ended up with 1 of each, the genuine one, ordered from JML @ £49.99, and this one, referred to from this point on as "the other". We tried to cancel the other @ £16.99 with Oxlux, who were very helpful and pleasant, with good communication. Unfortunately we were unable to refuse delivery as advised, so decided to keep it anyway.
We've compared them and in this case, it's true, you get what you pay for!
WOW! The GENUINE JML is finished beautifully, right down to the little rubber feet on the base! (...not actual feet, with toes you understand - just little round ones) the other, has bits of rubber hanging off them.
The grate attachment is sharp on the GENUINE JML, not so on... the other.
The slicer doesn't run smoothly on the other, on the JML it's spot on.
Some plastic parts are flimsy on... the other, with rough unfinished edges, it just doesn't seem "right" somehow.
The GENUINE JML has the JML logo on the box, has the "abs" plastic stamp on the plastic parts, and "Genius" imprinted here and there.
The lid is pure white on the GENUINE JML on... the other it is an off yellowish white.
I'm sure "the other" will be absolutely fine, and at £16.99 it seems excellent value - only time will tell.
I hope the review helps!
Happy dicing :)
