This lens hood is a low cost quality alternative to the Pentax original PH-RBA 52mm lens hood. It is a must for every D-SLR photo enthusiast. A lens hood is primarily designed to avoid unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. The bayonet connection makes attaching the lens hood to your lens very simple. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

Very good unit, well maid & 1/3 the price of Pentax`s hood, fits onto my Pentax SMC-DAL 18-55mm lens perfectly.

There's not much that needs to be said about this simple device, as it performs its job, and at a very reasonable price. Despite using a filter, which was not a slimline type, I have had no vignetting problems, even when using the Pentax lens at its 18mm wide-angle setting. Recommended.

Replica of 52mm Pentax PH-RBA petal lens hood with removable cut out to adjust filters. Fits Pentax K-r kit 18-55mm zoom lens. £10 instead of £30!

JJC Replacement Pentax lens hood
It fits, it works. The original is at the bottom of Hartlepool Marina, lost on the camera's first day out when new at a Jet Ski gathering. What is the little removable door for?
