Product Description

This lens hood is a low cost quality alternative to the Canon original ES-71 II lens hood. It is a must for every D-SLR photo enthusiast. A lens hood is primarily designed to avoid unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. The bayonet connection makes attaching the lens hood to your lens very simple. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

It is not as good as the Canon hoods, the plastic isn't as thick and it lacks any kind of flocked lining. If you can live with these shortcomings, it's good value for money; if nothing but the best will satisfy you, then buy the genuine Canon ES-71II (which should be included with the lens IMHO -stop being stingy Canon).

This lens hood is a perfect fit and just as good as the original Canon lens hoods I have. It's a quality, low price alternative to buying the Canon version. I'm very happy with it.
