Unlike the lens cap provided with the camera there is no need to remove this one, the cap opens and closes automatically as you turn the camera on and off. At first how to fit it on the front of the lens was a bit of a mystery. I assumed that there was a ring on the front of the lens which would unscrew to allow the threaded lens cap to be installed, but the camera is so well made that this did not appear to be the case and I was afraid to use too much force. However the suppliers of the lens cap assured me that the outer flange of the lens would, in fact, unscrew and so it proved. Panasonic should consider this as original equipment. I wouldn't be without it.

This is a very good product. I have had it for 3 weeks now. Fits on well to the camera thread, protects the lens and I no longer have to worry about taking off the lens cap. Brilliant!!!. Perhaps Panasonic should take note and sell this or something similar with the LX5. An indispensable purchase for and LX5, highly recommended.

this len's cap is so much better than the one supplyed it is well made a screws on perfect and the threads screw on so that the cap ends up in line with the product number at the 6 o,clock position and so looks part of this great camera.i have a brown rectro camara case from amazon and it has no problem over the cap.

Simple and effective
This does the job really well. Easy to fit. After that never need to give it a thought. It is just there protecting the lens. Now I don't need the bulky case I used to use.

Does a great job!

Not bad ...
The removeable (and easily mislaid) lens cap of the LX-5 has always been a concern, and this seems to fit the bill as a replacement - it is easy to fit and works as expected. Read more
