Product Description

Product Description

A book within a book, a stunningly perceptive new take on the World's most high profile unsolved crime; the killing of President John F. Kennedy. All wrapped up in a fast moving tale of sex, violence and humour. Dallas, Texas 1963 meets present day Soho, London. A brilliant combo of 80% hard fact and 20% (maybe) Fiction. Ex cage-fighter turned author Dan McQuade is asked to write a book on not who killed JFK but why he was killed. We meet many real life Soho characters like 'Dandy' Sebastian Horsley and 'Stripper' Della Francis along with Zian, a mysterious rickshaw driver from Soho's China Town and his dangerous girlfriend Jia-Li. All this results in murderous gun fights, awesome car and motorbike chases involving assassins intent on burying the truth why JFK had to be eliminated. Dan becomes obsessed and passionate about his subject. JFK was killed 25 years before he was born and he's not even an American but he won't rest until he knows the reason that JFK was shot to death in Dallas that day so long ago. Forget the usual suspects, Mafia, CIA, FBI, Russians, Cubans, Masons. Think instead The Power Elite who control the 'World Banking System' and JFK's fatal issuing of Executive Order 11110 just before his death. This fast moving modern day book explains what above all else was the reason for his tragic death.

My girlfriend gave me this book saying you have to read this it's a gem. Strange because her usual reading taste is light romance. We are both a couple of years older than Dan Mcquade who states he is 23, and like him we knew very little about JFK because it was long before our time. Now thanks to Dan we are almost experts on the subject. The thing I love about this guy is he doesn't know the meaning of or how to be "P.C". As a boxer/cage fighter he is washed up, he swears and drinks too much and his relationship with Della his girlfriend is volatile. His real love is his pet Macaw and his sports car. The first fly's away the second get smashed. The truth is I think he's a lonely loner. The characters are superb you feel as though you're in the room talking with them. Barney the tailor, Guy the diplomat, Bridie the barmaid, Dandy of Soho Sebastian Horsley, Zain the poem quoting rickshaw driver, all deserve a book of their own. I found the facts about Dorothy Kilgallen and singer Johnnie Ray fascinating they were both super stars of their day but new to me, and the reason for JFK's murder being executive order 11110 is a new and interesting slant. A totally original book, please Mr McQuade let's have more of the same

Young Mr McQuade brings modern day London to life even giving us the names of the tiny Soho back streets. He has a fondness or weakness for interesting cars and motor bikes, Tailor made clothes, Whisky, and Women. Just the sort of guy to write about a world shattering event like the Kennedy assassination that took place on the other side of the world nearly fifty years ago. So on the face of it a fast moving involved action story that I was going to give 4 stars. But on re reading the new slant on international bankers going back to the First World War I realise this is a very informative book on today's troubled world dressed up in an entertaining more fact than fiction story. So a definite 5 star.

A strange offbeat and very clever story line. Set in today's edgy London. The hero and story teller is an aggressive quirky ex boxer with a soft centre and a pet Macaw. We follow his quest that becomes an obsession to find out why President Kennedy was killed fifty years ago. For my money he comes up with a very plausible answer. The sex and violence are given a light even humours touch. An easy stylish and enjoyable read.
