JCB - Pretty good on the whole,

I've been used to Sony and Nokia phones in the past - The user interface (unsurprisingly) is different, but pretty easy to pick up. The predictive and regular text are a bit clunky compared to an average Nokia - but still easy.
The display is small, but un-cluttered, bright, sharp and very easy to read - so I don't think the display size is an issue. It doesn't have a camera or a web browser - so it doesn't need anything bigger. It has a very nice implementation of a calculator that uses the up/down/left/right and centre navigation keys for the usual +-x/ & = which makes it very easy compared to many others which use a menu to select the function. I'll use this a lot. The keys on the front are the best I've seen for years. There is no ambiguity over which one you are pressing even if you have big hands or are wearing gloves. The power connector is a standard miniature USB connector so there are plenty of chargers, leads & stuff already available. The Bluetooth works well. I'm writing this using the phone as a modem on my laptop via BT - and it only took a couple of mins to make work. The phone is smaller than I expected - only fractionally bigger than a Sony K810 - and a lot of that is rubber. The supplied belt clip is a bit chunky & sticks out a long way. I think it will just live in my pocket. I wish the UK networks would enable PTT (push to talk) to use a phone like a walkie talkie. The JCB has PTT - and I'm dying to try it out! I like the fact that it has no frills. Previous phones have been very feature rich - but I got the feeling they had lost sight of what a phone is actually for - talking to people. This is the best phone since my Nokia 6310i (which is still going strong).

Not for techno geeks for Builders,

My partner is in construction and usually his phones last about a month thus far this does what it says it does. If you want a hardy phone to make/receive calls or texts and you work in construction industry or something similar this is ideal If you want to take pictures use the internet etc not for you!

Delighted with the phone. The battery lasts well and takes only a short time to re-charge. Love the 'starting-up of the diesel engine' as a ring tone. Perhaps the signal pick-up could be slightly better compared with other phones - but it certainly does the job for me. John
