Regarding Bluetooth headsets, I'm not exactly a newcomer. I currently have about 5 headsets, two of which are in the the same price range as this one. For now there is absolutely no doubt: This is so far the best headset I ever tried!

The display box is almost over-the-top. Solid feel, nice display, and matches the stylish headset very well. Be sure to follow the instructions for opening it, though. I had a little trouble yanking the headset out. Had I been a bit more patient, it would have been a lot easier!

Tactile feed-back is good. It has two 'hidden' buttons, and the user inter face is a bit different from other headsets I've used. It works with a bit of getting used to, though the features are not the most advanced I've seen.

The charger and headset plug is quite nice. Standard USB in one end, and a proprietary plug for the headset in the other end. Regrettably, the headset plug is a proprietary plug. On the other hand, the actual design does to some extend make up for this: You get a standard USB charger that can be used for other devices as well, and the headset does not have a hole to collect dirt and grime, since the connection is using magnets to connect to the surface contacts. Quite well done, actually! Like most of my headsets, this headset will not stay connected when charging. That would have been welcome feature.

The sound I hear is crisp and clear. It cannot be turned up to a very loud volume, but it's sufficient for most environments. Using a more snug fitting ear-piece would most likely increase the volume significantly. The headset automatically adjusts the volume in accordance with surrounding sound, and that feature works quite well, as with many headsets today.

The transmitted sound is amazingly good! The headset really filters out surrounding sound. It simply works as advertised. Period. It this respect, it's probably second to none. Be sure to mount the headset correct, though! The headset must be pointing towards you mouth, and the jawbone microphone (the little white knob on its underside) must be in constant contact with your cheek. If not, your voice will appear thin and weak to the receiver! I am not sure if this will work with heavy beard: It's definitely something to be aware of if you have beard.

To me, the best features of this headset has probably been its ability to work flawlessly with my Nokia E90 phone. I use "Speaker Independent Voice Dial" a lot, but this is actually the first headset that just works every time. All other headsets are too slow to pick up the signal tone to begin the pronunciation of the name I want to call, or too slow to establish a voice connection to the phone. Until now, this headset has not failed one single time!

All in all, I'll give this a "highly recommended". So far it's worth every cent to me!

Jawbone ear piece 14 Oct 2010
After having the Jawbone ear piece for a while now, I am of the opinion its no better then other ear pieces costing far less. The ear loop provided with the ear piece is very flimsy and has now broken and while you can still use the ear piece without the loop, the ear piece sometimes falls out.The reception is also not very good.

Overall I am very disappointed with the Jawbone and would not recommend it.

I ordered this earpiece after having owned several "cheap and cheerful", all of which died after anything from a few weeks to a few months.
When it was delivered it's quality became apparent, from the packaging to the feel of earpiece it is very well made. It is compact, and stylish. It looks good when worn.

Inside the packaging there are a number of different sized interchangeable rubber earbuds, in 2 different shapes/styles, along with a very slim "ear hook", which pushes into a small hole on the side of the earpiece. Apparently the earpiece can be worn without the hook, but I would not even try it, as it would fall out of my ear, although other people's ears may well be different to mine. After trying a couple of the earbuds I settled for the mid sized one without the loop on it, and it fits just fine. I can wear this earpiece for 9 hours straight through,it stays put, and is comfortable for the entire time.

It was very straight forward to pair with my phone, and connects quickly every time I switch it on, first time, every time.
The battery life is awesome. I use this for 9-10 hours per day, and used it for 8 days without charging it to see how long it would last. It didn't run out even then! When I charged it, it took just over 1 hour, amazing!

As for the earpiece in use, all I can say is, brilliant! When I talk to people when driving (I drive lorries, not the quietest environment) they cannot believe I am driving, as the noise canceling really does cancel out all of the background noise, even if I am driving with the window open!! It is loud enough for me to hear the conversation without holding the earpiece against my ear, or pushing it in deeper into my ear canal. The noise canceling can be turned off, and I did this once, to show the effect to the person on the other end of the phone, and they did confirm it makes a huge difference. I can't see any other reason to disable this feature, unless of course you are using it in a totally quiet environment.

The only downside I can find with this earpiece is that you have to be a little careful if you do need to push it on to your ear during talking, as there is a chance of cutting off the person on the other end. The reason for this is that there is no "answer button" on the unit, you just push the casing and that's it. So you need to be a bit careful, but you soon get used to that. A VERY minor point.

In summary, I would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking of getting a noise cancelling headset.
