I tested this against a number of comparatively priced ipod docks in store - it outperformed all of them. It can succesfully fill and entertain a large room of drunkards, with decent bass and without distorting at high volumes. I was really surprised with what you get from this small 18W system.
The previous reviewer who describes it as tinny and with worse than sound from their iMac must have had a faulty one, when I first got it I directly compared the same songs from the dock and from my mac laptop - iMacs, MacBook etc have terrible speaker sound, the JBL is crisp, clear, deep and loud.
One con: at night, after playing music to sleep to there is sometimes some very quiet interference or white noise. It disappears when turning the volume down using the remote. This is using the iPod Nano.
I did get mine on special for £60, very pleased!

Very straight-forward to install and certainly looks, I guess, 'cool'. (Although supplying a black lead with what is essentially a white dock seems pretty daft!)
The actual sound quality, for me, however, was very disappointing. My iMac provides a better, more rounded sound so, in retrospect, I feel that I have wasted what is basically £100.00. The JBL On Stage 111 is tinny, with a clear emphasis on treble notes. Even with the EQ settings adjusted to the Bass Booster preference, the outcome is disappointing. I would not recommend this product if you feel that you have a discerning ear.

Small/neat (perhaps a little pricey!) piece of kit that sits happily in my dining room playing music from my iPod Nano for my dinner guests. Whilst not big on bass notes I find the sound quality acceptable and it meets my expectations for such a compact piece of kit. For me the portability of the unit is a bonus as I only really intended to use the unit on the mains at home.
